Uhuru is an Afrocentric clothing line focused on embracing the lifestyle and values of African culture. Founded by Izuchuckwu Madubueze on the premise of merging the worldof his home in Nigeria to his new home in the United States, a movement quicklyformed. Izu was inspired by traditional African garments but wanted to switch up the usual andmerge kente fabric into Western influenced apparel.
